Privacy Policy

How we handle your data on the BBE CTF platform.

Last updated: July 1, 2026

1. Who we are

ByteBattle Escape (“BBE”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Capture The Flag platform at this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can contact us about your data.

Contact: bbe.ctf.info@gmail.com · Contact page

2. Information we collect

When you use BBE, we may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information — name or team name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), playing mode (individual or team), and team member names if you register as a team.
  • Verification data — one-time passwords (OTP) and email verification status used during registration and account recovery.
  • Platform activity — module attempts, scores, solved challenges, leaderboard entries, session identifiers, and timestamps related to your CTF participation.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and server logs generated when you access the site.
  • Communications — messages you send us through email or contact forms.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • verify your identity during registration and password reset;
  • operate CTF modules, scoring, leaderboards, and practice modes;
  • maintain platform security and prevent abuse;
  • respond to support requests;
  • improve the platform and fix technical issues;
  • comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the platform), where we have a legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), or where you have given consent (for example, when you create an account or contact us).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

  • Service providers — such as email delivery and hosting providers that help us operate the platform.
  • Public leaderboard data — usernames, scores, and rankings may be visible to other users as part of the CTF experience.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of BBE and its users.

6. Data retention

We retain account and activity data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, maintain leaderboard history, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords, session controls, and access restrictions. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email bbe.ctf.info@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children

BBE is intended for users who can lawfully agree to our Terms of Service. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located in different regions depending on our hosting providers. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards where required.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data can be sent to bbe.ctf.info@gmail.com or through our Contact page.
